I Have a friend who owns a Honda HRV in a weird shade of green. I might need to come to his house one day and took a spin in his HRV. I never really interested in this car until the new one came along. I always thought this car would be much more cooler without a lift kit, but maybe that's just me.
Of course, this car will star the next quickride after the ecosport. Somehow i'm in a good mood of driving tall crossovers.

Roof rails... that are also a wing... but they're roof rails...
This is the best worst thing ever, possibly.

We have the CR-V here in US America ... is this a relative?

I'm just... hmm.
Ok, imagine putting a similar wing/spoiler on top of any other crossover... A Ford Escape, for example, or a Jeep Patriot. It would look funny. It wouldn't really be functional as a wing. And it would get in the way of loading anything from the rear (and I imagine it's not really a load-bearing crossbar).
And here, it's obviously integrated from the factory. And because they just went for it, without hesitation, it just kinda works. Looks a little awkward, but not as bad as you'd think.
I have some questions i need to ask myself now...

HRV is some sort of smaller SUV than the CRV. We also have CRV too.
I think jason do a piece on HRV so i think i'll do a piece on HRV as well. One day.

Well, i guess honda designers were drinking some sort of bottled crystal meth when they're designing things in the 90's..

Are we sure this isn't a Volvo?

The thing is, I want to hate it, but I can't deny that it looks far better than it would expect.

Where are you? The CR-V has gotten a bit overweight, in my opinion - rented one a couple years back, and it's a bit chubby. Very smooth though, and very stable in the rain.

I'm pretty sure it's not a Volvo.

Indonesia! :D
The current CRV is a piece of junk compared to the old CRV. The one with shower that is.
This HRV was made somwhere in 2001. So i think this car is quite small compared with the current CRV.

If this thing were branded as an Isuzu, I wouldn't even flinch - wing and all. That front end screams "Isuzu" to me. Knowing that it's a Honda makes it seem more quirky.
I mean, they could could be siblings, right?

Nope. This is a real japanese car pretending to be a Volvo:
